TAT Launches "Night Time Wonder: Phlop Kham Yam Ratri" — Inviting Travellers to Discover the Charm of Thailand After Sunset

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched the "Night Time Wonder: Phlop Kham Yam Ratri" project, a campaign to promote night-time tourism under a policy driving tourism with a focus on creating value and experience. The campaign builds on the "Night-time Tourism" trend to shape a new form of travel experience, inviting tourists to go out and discover the "charm of the night" and a happiness that begins the moment the sun dips below the horizon.

The campaign brings together attractions, activities, restaurants, cafés, hotels, and night-time accommodation from across the country, while joining forces with operators to offer special privileges and promotions — with the aim of stimulating domestic travel, increasing tourist spending and length of stay, and generating continuously circulating revenue for operators and the Thai tourism economy.

Today, tourist behaviour has changed markedly. Travellers place greater importance on "experience" than on simply checking in at a destination, and they increasingly prefer to travel during times that are less crowded, more relaxed, and allow them to make the most of their time. The nighttime has thus become another window that gives tourists the opportunity to discover the charm of cities, nature, and ways of life from an entirely different dimension — whether that means strolling through night markets, savouring local cuisine, visiting late-night cafés, enjoying a seaside dinner, resting amid nature, or taking part in outdoor activities that can only be experienced after sunset. All of these are experiences that answer the needs of modern travellers who seek novelty and meaning in their journeys.

To inspire travel, the TAT organised a Media Fam Trip, inviting influencers and content creators to experience and share night-time travel through two prototype routes. The first, "Starry Wild Night" in Chon Buri province, presents an Adventure and Nature Tourism experience through activities such as squid-fishing boat trips, nocturnal wildlife spotting, and camping in the midst of nature. The second, "Moonlight Wellness Escape" in Phetchaburi province, invites participants to open themselves to a Wellness Retreat Experience amid tranquil natural surroundings, fully replenishing body and mind through activities designed for relaxation and balanced living in a nighttime atmosphere.

Beyond inspiring travel through tourism routes, the campaign also compiles special deals and promotions in collaboration with tourism operators to present night-time tourism activities, products, and services — including boat cruises, diving, camping, nocturnal wildlife spotting, hotels and accommodation, restaurants, and cafés — in order to offer travellers exceptional value for their journeys, while helping operators reach quality tourist segments and generate continuously circulating revenue for the nighttime tourism economy.

The "Night Time Wonder: Phlop Kham Yam Ratri" project is therefore yet another TAT campaign inviting everyone to open up to night-time travel from a fresh perspective, through routes, activities, and exclusive promotions from operators nationwide — together adding colour, stimulating domestic travel, and passing on the value of travel at every hour of the day. Go out and experience the charm of Thailand after sunset… and your nights will never be the same again.
