Kalasin — The Governor of Kalasin, along with thousands of residents and fans, gathered to receive the body of "Hlun Solo," the well-known YouTuber, amid a large contingent of reporters covering every development. The Governor of Kalasin stated that from this point forward, the people of Kalasin will serve as hosts for the funeral arrangements. Meanwhile, his grandmother has quietly secluded herself inside the house, unable to bring herself to look at her grandson's face, devastated by his sudden departure.
Today (7 Aug.), at 5:00 p.m., the atmosphere surrounding the reception of the body of "Hlun Solo," whose real name is Boworatat Pengsuk, a well-known backpacker travel YouTuber who died in the country of Georgia, was felt at house number 340, Ban Si Yaek, Moo 10, Tambon Somdet, Amphoe Somdet, Kalasin Province — the hometown of "Hlun." Suwatthan Khemthanapet, Governor of Kalasin Province; Wirat Phimpahanit, Member of Parliament for Kalasin; Chanawut Uttho, Member of Parliament for Kalasin; Wirat Ratchachari, District Chief of Amphoe Somdet; along with teachers, and several thousand fans had gathered to await the arrival of the body and pay their respects, all under the watch of reporters from numerous news outlets waiting to cover the developments.
Reports indicate that the vehicle carrying the body of "Hlun Solo" arrived at 5:18 p.m. in a white van. Five rescue workers together lifted the coffin containing the remains of "Hlun" down from the vehicle. His uncle, elder sister, and relatives, who stood holding photographs of Hlun, walked in front of the coffin — along with an incense burner — and proceeded into the house amid a deeply sorrowful atmosphere. Several relatives shed tears and appeared on the verge of fainting, requiring a medical team to provide first aid. Hlun's grandmother, meanwhile, secluded herself quietly inside the house, unable to bring herself to look at her own grandson's face, as she could not come to terms with his passing, under the close care of family members.
When moving the body of "Hlun" into the house for the ceremony, family members had it placed inside a refrigerated casket and requested privacy, not permitting members of the media to enter to record footage. Once the body of "Hlun" had been placed inside the refrigerated casket, a religious ceremony was held, presided over by Suwatthan Khemthanapet, Governor of Kalasin Province. Reports indicate that beginning tomorrow — 8 through 10 August — there will be a traditional Buddhist prayer chanting ceremony each evening, and the cremation will take place on 11 August at Wat Rangsi Chatchawan, Moo 4, Tambon Somdet, Amphoe Somdet, Kalasin Province.
"Hlun Solo" (Hlun Solo), whose real name is Boworatat Pengsuk, was a well-known Thai backpacker travel YouTuber and influencer and the owner of the "Hlun Solo" page, which has accumulated a total of several million followers. He was distinguished by his solo travels to more than 50 countries, particularly those that are difficult to access or considered high-risk. In terms of his background and early life, he was an orphan from Amphoe Somdet, Kalasin Province, who lost his father at the age of four and whose mother separated from the family. He grew up with his grandmother, persevering through life and placing great importance on education. Through his determination, he was able to pass the entrance examination and graduate from the Faculty of Political Science at Chulalongkorn University on a Chula-Chonnabot scholarship.
In his past, he had worked as a factory hand and earned money to fund his own education, saving diligently and planning his finances carefully in order to pursue his dream of traveling the world. As a traveler, the name "Hlun" came from his actual nickname, which his mother had given him as "Lun," but people often mispronounced it, so he adapted it for use as the name of his page, producing solo backpacker content delving into exotic lands and hazardous areas such as Somalia, Afghanistan, Iran, and Pakistan — inspiring a great many followers through his attitude and his perseverance in life.
Regarding the circumstances of his death: he lost contact with his family while traveling alone to film content in the country of Georgia on 13 July 2026. The Thai authorities and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs subsequently coordinated a search, before a report was received and his death was later confirmed, causing immense grief among his fans and the public on social media.
