Ratchaburi Presses Ahead with Feasibility Study on Logistics Route Linking Three Provinces — Kanchanaburi–Ratchaburi–Phetchaburi — to Support Modern-Era Transport

Ratchaburi — Ratchaburi Province is pressing ahead with a feasibility study on a logistics route linking "Kanchanaburi–Ratchaburi–Phetchaburi," with the aim of upgrading the transport network, improving convenience and safety in travel and goods transportation. A public forum has also been opened to gather opinions from residents, so that proposals from the area can be incorporated into the project design to ensure it meets real-world needs.

Today (19 Aug.), at Weladi 1 Room, Na Wela Hotel, Mueang Ratchaburi District, Ratchaburi Province, Mr. Sutthiphong Phuttajanthra, Provincial Chief Administrator of Ratchaburi, presided over the opening of the conference for the Feasibility Study Project on a Logistics Route Connecting Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, and Phetchaburi Provinces. The conference was held to report on study progress, covering suitable project development formats, findings from the environmental study, as well as activities related to public participation.

Mr. Chaturong Homrarat, Director of the Ratchaburi Rural Roads District, said that the Department of Rural Roads has commissioned Chiang Mai University as a consultant to carry out the project, with a total study period of 540 days. The project aims to enhance the road network capacity across the three provinces so that travel and goods transportation can be connected more efficiently.

The project is considered another key approach to developing a more complete transport network, capable of supporting inter-provincial goods transportation and travel, reducing route limitations, improving convenience and safety, and strengthening the economic and logistics potential of the area in the future.

The consultant will hold an Interim Meeting to give relevant agencies and the public an opportunity to be informed of the project's progress and to submit opinions and recommendations. Information gathered at this forum will be used to further the project study, ensuring it is appropriate, consistent with local conditions, and of maximum benefit to the public.

Eyes are on this new logistics route: if it proceeds according to plan, it will not only link the three provinces for more convenient travel and transportation, but also stands to serve as a key mechanism for boosting the long-term economic, trade, and tourism capacity of the western region.
