Government boasts TH-AI Passport pre-registrations surpass 530,000 — AiPASS set to launch with 30 free AI models, targeting 5 million users

A Deputy Government Spokesperson has revealed that pre-registrations for TH-AI Passport have exceeded 530,000. The AiPASS platform is set to officially open on 31 August, giving the public free access to 30 AI models, with a target of expanding technology access to 5 million people.

Today (19 August 2026), Ms. Lalida Pheritwiwalthana, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, disclosed progress on the TH-AI Passport project, stating that the Office of the National Digital Economy and Society Commission, under the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, has reported that pre-registration figures for the project stood at 532,692 as of 5:00 p.m. The AiPASS platform is scheduled to officially launch on 31 August 2026, providing the public with the opportunity to access and try a wide variety of artificial intelligence (AI) tools free of charge.

The Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office stated that the TH-AI Passport project is designed to accommodate a maximum of 5 million people, with the aim of building AI literacy skills and promoting AI adoption in education, work, and business. The government seeks to close the technology access gap and enhance the capabilities of Thai people so they are ready for the changes brought about by the digital economy and society.

The AiPASS platform will bring together AI from more than 14 leading developers, comprising over 30 models in a single platform. It covers tools for a wide variety of tasks, including text generation and analysis, in-depth research, image and video creation, as well as Thai-language models, enabling users to choose the tools best suited to their needs and to learn how to apply AI in diverse ways.

Members of the public can pre-register via the website de.aipass.net using a mobile phone or computer through a standard web browser in normal mode. They then log in with a Google, Microsoft, or Apple account, fill in the required information and accept the terms and conditions, before verifying their identity through the Thang Rat application or ThaiD. Once the process is complete, the system will create an AiPASS account to be activated on 31 August 2026. Please note that registration through Incognito or Private Window mode is not supported.

"Pre-registration figures of over 530,000 reflect the strong public interest in bringing AI into daily life. The government wants AI technology to be a tool that people of all groups can genuinely access and benefit from — whether students, working professionals, entrepreneurs, or members of the general public — in order to build skills, improve work efficiency, and create new economic opportunities. The key goal is to ensure that Thai people are not merely users of technology, but are able to select and apply AI in ways appropriate to their own work," said Ms. Lalida.
