The Prime Minister has departed from Wing 6 Airbase in Don Mueang for Sydney, marking the start of an official visit to Australia, to be followed by New Zealand, leading a delegation for wide-ranging discussions, meetings with leading Australian companies, and business networking activities.
Today (Monday, 17 August 2026) at 09:00 hrs., Ms. Rachada Thanadirek, Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, announced that Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, together with his delegation, departed from Wing 6 Don Mueang Airbase (Wing 6) for Sydney, Commonwealth of Australia, on an official visit to Australia from 17–20 August 2026, before proceeding to Auckland for an official visit to New Zealand from 20–22 August 2026.
The Prime Minister and his delegation are scheduled to arrive at Sydney Kingsford Smith International Airport in Sydney at approximately 21:05 hrs. local Sydney time today, which is 3 hours ahead of Thailand time.
The official delegation accompanying the visit comprises: Mr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance; Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkaew, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Julapan Amornwiwat, Minister of Labour; Ms. Sabida Thaisetthi, Minister of Culture; Ms. Piyaratch Tiyapairat, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives; Ms. Traisulee Traisaranakul, Secretary-General to the Prime Minister; and Mr. Narit Therdsteerasukdi, Secretary-General of the Board of Investment.
This visit to Australia is made at the invitation of The Honourable Anthony Albanese, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Australia, and marks the first official visit by a Thai Prime Minister in 14 years. The agenda encompasses: official talks with the Australian Prime Minister; a keynote address at the Lowy Institute; meetings with leading Australian companies; a business networking reception; as well as a meeting with the Thai community at Thai Town.
