It has become a golden summer for Hollywood, as both Spider-Man: Brand New Day and The Odyssey have each earned more than $1 billion at the worldwide box office. The new Spider-Man instalment reached the milestone in just 12 days, while Christopher Nolan's epic achieved it within 4 weeks.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day, starring Tom Holland, continued its strong momentum in its second weekend, collecting $145 million in North America and $381 million worldwide during the latest weekend, quickly pushing its global cumulative total past the billion-dollar mark and becoming another landmark achievement for the franchise.
Meanwhile, Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey showed no signs of slowing down. After four weeks in release, the film has accumulated $1.104 billion worldwide, adding $110.7 million from international markets and $31.5 million from North America in its most recent weekend, confirming the powerful audience response to this epic film.
The success of both titles has also given a clear and significant boost to the overall 2026 box office. The combined North American weekend gross stood at $203 million, up 51% from the same period last year, while the year-to-date cumulative total reached $6.608 billion — 18.5% higher than the same period in 2025. Summer box office receipts are also running approximately 4.4% above pre-COVID 2019 levels.
