At 11:30 a.m. on 8 August 2026, Mrs. Parisa Srisaengjay, Chairperson of the Parent Network of Thepsirinthorn Nonthaburi School, together with Mr. Nattaphong Saket, Vice-Chairperson of the Parent Network, brought chat evidence — containing conversations about upper-secondary students of Thepsirinthorn Nonthaburi School planning to repeat a tragic incident on 17–18 August — to file a report with investigators at Plai Bang Police Station.
Mrs. Parisa Srisaengjay, Chairperson of the Parent Network of Thepsirinthorn Nonthaburi School, and Mr. Nattaphong Saket, Vice-Chairperson of the Parent Network, stated that, as far as they are aware, the incident that occurred was a personal matter involving the student, who had shown no prior behaviour or planning, and they confirmed that the school was not involved or negligent as reported in the news. Regarding the chat that was brought to file the report today, it had been shared by a student into the parent network's LINE group, which made both students and parents feel uneasy. She therefore came as a representative of the parents to file the report and make an official daily record noting that an incident of this kind might recur.
On the matter of the chat shared by the student, the content indicated that the perpetrator had one other companion. In reality, this person was a plainclothes police officer from Lumpini Police Station who was the first to enter the scene, identified himself as a police officer, and entered Building 5 where the incident occurred in order to help the students get out. The students misunderstood and interpreted this as meaning there were two perpetrators in total, causing them concern. She therefore brought this information to report to police officers.
Preliminarily, the school has ordered a temporary closure and will reopen as normal on 17 August 2026. The school's administration will hold a meeting to discuss enhanced preventive measures. It was confirmed that the school has not been negligent toward its students. At present, parents are concerned about information circulating that does not reflect the facts from the school and that is damaging the school's reputation; this has been explained to parents so they can understand the situation.
"Right now we still have 100% confidence in the school, including the school's administrative team and teachers. An incident like this has never happened before. I believe the teachers will be able to take care of the students. As for the issue of allowing teachers to carry firearms, I see it as a double-edged sword — personally I do not agree with it, but I would rather see weapon-screening measures increased instead."
The school has consistently been strict about parent meetings; if a parent is unable to attend, they must arrange a representative to attend in their place, with 100% attendance required, in order to hear policies, rules and regulations, and to jointly sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU).
