Samsaen Police Station has issued an official statement clarifying a clip showing Saint Gabriel School students mob-kicking and punching a fellow student, confirming the case has been accepted in accordance with the law. It was also revealed that the firearm used in the incident has been examined and found to be only a "gas-powered pellet gun" firing plastic pellets — a BB gun.
A clip had been circulating on social media showing two male students from Saint Gabriel School ganging up on a classmate, kicking and punching him and threatening him with a firearm. According to available information, one of the perpetrators is the son of a provincial administrative council member in Roi Et Province, while the victim is the son of a teacher at the school. In response to the incident, Police Lieutenant General Sayam Boonsom, Commander of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, ordered Samsaen Police Station to gather evidence and take legal action against the offenders.
Today (8 Aug.), a reporter confirmed that Samsaen Police Station has since issued a statement clarifying the incident following the spread of the video footage on social media. The statement sets out the details and progress of the case as follows: the incident was a fight among students that took place outside the school premises. Police officers have already summoned both parties involved, together with their guardians, to give statements. They were questioned in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team in accordance with legal procedures, and the case has been formally registered.
Regarding the firearm that appeared in the clip, officers have seized it and sent it for forensic examination at the Forensic Science Division. Preliminary findings indicate that it is a "gas-powered gun firing plastic pellets (BB gun)," which is consistent with what is visible in the video footage. The victim has also confirmed that it is the same weapon that was used on the day of the incident.
