On 28 August, at the Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office building, Government House, Mrs. Suksamruay Wanthaniyakul, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, in her capacity as Chairperson of the National Village and Urban Community Fund Committee, presided over the 7th meeting of the National Village and Urban Community Fund Board (NVFF Board), session no. 7/2026, and pushed forward two significant resolutions to advance the strengthening of village funds across the country.
The meeting approved an additional 5,461 SML Plus projects with a combined budget of 1,009,600,000 baht, in accordance with the proposal of the Sub-Committee on the Implementation of the Project to Support and Strengthen the Stability of Village and Urban Community Funds (SML Plus Sub-Committee), covering all areas throughout the country. The meeting also directed the Office of the National Village and Urban Community Fund (NVFF Office) to accelerate its review of application documents and complete the process by this September, so that funds can reach communities and the public as quickly as possible.
In addition, the Board also approved the allocation of funds for the third and latest round of the "Thai Help Thai: Capital Top-Up, Half-and-Half Interest" project, with a budget of 460 million baht, aimed at reducing interest burdens, improving liquidity, and strengthening the financial stability of village funds nationwide.
When combined with all three rounds of the Thai Help Thai project, a total of 9,571 village funds have already benefited, representing a cumulative total of 743,870,000 baht. This reflects the continuity of policy under Mrs. Suksamruay's drive to help reduce financial costs and enhance liquidity, enabling village fund members to have more working capital for their livelihoods.
In closing, Mrs. Suksamruay instructed the meeting to accelerate budget disbursement in line with set targets, so that government spending achieves maximum efficiency and funds genuinely reach grassroots citizens.
