A mass shooting at Debsirin Nonthaburi School has been confirmed to have left 7 people dead — 3 teachers and 3 students — while the perpetrator died as an additional fatality en route to hospital. Police are working to establish the motive.
Latest developments in the mass shooting at Debsirin Nonthaburi School this morning (7 Aug. 2026), which has so far left 7 people dead (including the perpetrator) and 15 others injured: police investigators have established that the perpetrator was a youth enrolled in Grade 8 (Mathayom 2), who lived with his paternal grandparents at a residence in a housing estate on Soi Wat Lat Pla Duk, Tambon Bang Khu Rat, Bang Bua Thong District, Nonthaburi Province.
When officers went to inspect the residence, they found that the grandfather and grandmother had been killed earlier that morning by a firearm of the same type used in the school attack. The weapon was a 9mm CZ pistol registered in the grandfather's name.
Our correspondent reports that the confirmed death toll stands at 7, comprising 3 teachers and 3 students, with the perpetrator accounting for one additional death after dying while being transported to hospital. The number of injured stands at 15, consisting of 13 with general injuries and 2 in serious condition, all of whom have been transferred to various hospitals for treatment.
