Prosecutors submit indictment against "Boss Sam – Boss Min" in case of joining The iCon Group business to defraud the public

Prosecutors submit indictment against "Boss Sam – Boss Min," celebrity actors, in case of joining The iCon Group business to defraud the public.

Today (27 Apr.), Mr. Yuranun Phamonmontri, known as "Sam," a well-known actor and suspect in the case of jointly defrauding the public, jointly and fraudulently entering data into a computer system, jointly borrowing money in a manner constituting fraud against the public, jointly operating a direct-sales business and direct-marketing business and conducting activities in the nature of soliciting persons to join a network for business operations, and jointly operating a direct-sales business without a licence, travelled to the Office of the Attorney General.

He came to meet with prosecutors of the Special Cases Division 1 on Ratchadaphisek Road, after having previously requested a postponement of the earlier submission date of 26 March, citing that he had not yet been able to prepare bail securities or secure legal counsel.

Mr. Sam entered through the rear of the building in order to avoid the media and did not answer questions from reporters who asked whether he had any concerns today. Without responding, he walked into a lift to go upstairs. Mr. Sam was dressed in a suit, wearing dark sunglasses and a surgical mask, and walked with his head bowed; once inside the lift, he took out his phone.

Meanwhile, at 09:30 a.m., Ms. Phitchaya Watthanamontri, known as "Min," arrived at the Criminal Court accompanied by her family and legal counsel. Upon arrival, she raised her hands in a wai greeting to reporters before walking into the Criminal Court building. Ms. Phitchaya, or Min, had her hair cut short, wore dark sunglasses, and appeared composed.

As for the next steps, prosecutors from Special Cases Division 1 will formally submit the case for prosecution before the court, at which point both defendants may file a request for bail at the court stage. However, if the court denies bail, both defendants will be taken to the Bangkok Special Prison or the Central Women's Correctional Institution.
