House Speaker prepares to submit the name of 'Nattaphong Ruangpanyawut' to the King as Opposition Leader today.
Today (27 Apr.), Mr. Sophon Saramee, Speaker of the House of Representatives, gave an interview regarding the case in which the People's Party has continued to have Mr. Nattaphong Ruangpanyawut, a party-list MP, serve as leader of the People's Party — which is the top-ranked party on the opposition side — and who, under the constitution, will hold the position of Opposition Leader. Mr. Sophon stated that once that process had been completed, the submission to the King could proceed in accordance with the established steps.
Reporters noted that the submission of the Opposition Leader's name to the King is currently being processed by the Secretary-General of the House of Representatives, who today will bring the documents for the House Speaker to sign, after which they will be forwarded to the Royal Household Bureau to proceed with the next steps.
