The Thai baht has appreciated to its strongest level in 18 months, buoyed by a surge in tourism revenue that has surpassed pre-pandemic figures for the first time. The Bank of Thailand reported that foreign tourist arrivals reached 12 million in the first quarter, generating over 600 billion baht in revenue. Chinese, Malaysian, and Indian tourists led the growth.
